My first trip deep sea. I think that this was at Djibouti.

Are you sure this is Maidan, Stuart? It looks suspiciously like Mawana. You could play spot the differences!

Hugh
You are almost right Hugh.
I have it misfiled in my slide case under our Maidan trip but it is actually Makrana.
Good job Ron didn't spot it.
Thanks
Stuart

Wasn't the funnel, there's the dog kennel where the sprog kennel should be, and a deck too high, sprogs would get delusions of grandeur up there! And a built in swimming pool between 4 and 5. The mast was the dead give-away.

Cheers

Definitly not Maidan. I was apprentice on Maidan and lived on the boat deck in a double cabin with a brass porthole !! Looks more like later class...john g

So did I John in 1963. It was nice up there in the Gods, two engine apps. and two deckies with no one to bother us. We had to shine the brass porthole for the old mans Sunday morning inspection.
