This vessel came to Scrabster around the midsixties.I don't remember was it Peterhead or Fraserburgh that she came from,her name was Silver Searcher,a motor drifter with a 152hp Gardner engine.A local farmer bought her and had her converted into a private yacht,used it for sailing across to Norway and Denmark in the summer time

Could this boat be the Silver Searcher from Fraserburgh build at Granton late forties or early fifties,used to be Leith registered

I am not sure at all Winner,what you are saying is possibly correct,i thought she was either PD or FR reg. but as i say not 100% sure,will try and find out.

That was the name, Pentland Wave, that I was trying to think of but couldnt remember. She used to call in by Longhope frequently. From memory she was all white in them days

The same people also had a converted MFV she was named Pentland Firth,think she was sold to the west coast.

I skippered her for a few years when she came to the Clyde from Whitby she belonged to Rex Lyons then...Lovely old boat..
