Another of John Callis's splendid photos of a Glen boat. This is the GLENEARN, the ship that gave her name to the famous class of eight vessels.
She is pictured passing Northfleet 6.9.52.
GLENEARN had a distinguished career throughout the war under the white ensign, as did two of her sisters. The original BRECONSHIRE & GLENORCHY
were lost, both on Malta convoys. They were replaced by similar ships.

Hello. I would like to buy Alex Aikens book about Glenearn. Do you have the address and details of the family member who has spare books so that I can send for a copy? My father was a Royal Marine aboard HMS Glenearn. He is 88 years old and still going strong. Thank you. Janet McFarlane.

Janet, I am sure Hugh will respond. He gave me the address and I bought the book a while ago and a very fine read it is too. I have lent it to someone otherwise I could get the address for you.

Hello,
I have an elderly neighbour of 94 years & after a good long chat with him he told me of his service during the war on HMS Glenearn 1939-1943 .
I was later scanning the Internet out of curiosity I was amazed to discover there is a book "Time of War "& would love to purchase a copy to give to my neighbour as a thank you for sharing his experience is there any copies still out there but not from traders ?

Thank you in advance
