A sentimental picture for me.
The RMS Pendennis Castle leaving Durban bound for home.
It was taken by my late step father and I was serving as Senior 2nd Officer on board her.
So I must be somewhere down aft in the picture.
In my opinion the best looking of all the mailboats and certainly the happiest ship I have ever sailed on...... loved her to bits!

Passed her on our way in to capetown in late 1974,I was a passenger on the galileo galilei of lloyd triestino line,All of the Castle ships were very nicely designed ships.Nice photo.

nice to see another picture of the penndenis,i sailed on her on my second ship at sea.i was a glorious deck boy.you was probably one of the gods as
i thought at the time ha! ha! ha !,i sailed on her for one trip 18th may 1960
to 1st july 1960 wonderful trip.i also sailed on the edinburgh castle and the
durban castle. oh what wonderful days.
