I took this photo in 1974 at Mazatlan, Mexico. She looked very old and strange with the funnel sticking out of the foredeck.

I think she was a dredger, maybe somebody out there knows.

I think this may be the Dredger Presidente Aleman,built for African owners in 1948 as OYO , sold to Mexico in 1951.Built by Wm Simons of Renfrew.She was scrapped 15/3/77. She had a suction pipe mounted in a well on the stern.Very nice photo.

Wellogra, thanks for the comments and information. I will enlarge the photo and see if the name is more ledgible. I saw the ship many times during our visits to Mazatlan.

What is a OYO?
