From memory - 40 years on - Goodwill Merchant sailed on Atlantic SS route Larne Preston along with Goodwill ???. I was Second Mate on the Curran sailing out of Larne at the time and recall seeing her about then. The Atlantic SS logo is clearly seen on her bow.

Regards
Fergus 62

Nice photo shipmate,

Looking at the crane in the background, I think the photo was taken in Preston dock.

Cheers Frank

A good photo Shipmate17, and thanks Jan for the info.

I would say your right Frank, she traded Larne - Preston from built, till the mid 60's, when the ASN Ionic Ferry & Bardic Ferry were more economical, then I think she and her sister Goodwill Merchant went to the Channel Islands - Plymouth ?

Your photo caught my eye Shipmate17, used to see her and the ' Merchant, coming and going from Larne harbour in the early 60's, and they were well kept. Their berth was at the South end of the harbour.

Some of their crew setteled in Larne.

The Goodwill Traveller also sailed regularly from Preston (along with Merchant and Trader).
