Smiths always built/designed great ships which included the Flower Class Corvettes, shipowners would send their Sons to serve their time there. Pride in Craftsmanship the key along with being very much a family employer.

Fitted radio room and Nav aids on her and her sisters at Smiths. Can't honestly say it was a great yard to work at though....... Very unionised! No flexibility of trades. Could have learned a lesson from Appledore yard or B&W in Copenhagen.
