Would a modern ship of similar size survive a grounding as ell as these older ships seem to?

Materials and design are more cost orientated these days?

Trust the Dutch to put up a sign prohibiting something (Entrance forbidden) with reference. I am Dutch and that is a memory of my youth where every business premise had a sign with the rules above the door. Lots of rules in NDL.

Maybe the sign is there to protect the people or to protect the ship from looting.
