A real event, the Albanian cargo vessel VLORA departing Tirana for Bari in 1991. The Iron curtain had not long fallen and these people were desperate to reach Western Europe, most of them were subsequently repatriated to Albania.

Thank you James for the information, I missed this news as 1991, I was in Siberia. as the photo shows, Desperate times.
I have one more photo of the same incident, with the ships further off the Jetty , with persons crowding onto the cross trees, Radar Mast and the lips of the funnel.
Twenty four years later and we still have a problem with refugees on a bigger scale.
