Sheesh - Some look to be parked a bit precariously!

Plenty of fuel there for them to top up with.

I was there,thats who I worked for when I came ashore,we were put up in the ex navy place there.It was a bit of a shock to the system but the money was good.
The cars were landed at Scrabster and we moved them to a hanger at Wick airport where we processed them and then put on a transporter and delivered around the country.

I was up in scrabster a few weeks ago to make sure that one of our ships loaded safely and there have been a few changes since this photo was taken. There has been a lump of land reclaimed between the photographer and the 'car park' and a new pier built out towards the lighthouse where the Stromness ferry now departs.
Scrabster - Drive to Thurso (the back of beyond) and Scrabster is another two miles further on!

At one time they had a shipload of new German built Vauxhalls parked at the Able Yard right next to a large pile of dredged sand!!
