Originally one of 30 Maritime Commission C2-S-E1 type standart turbine freighters built by Gulf SB, Chickasaw, AL. Delivered on 11.11.43 to WSA which allocated her to Waterman Steamship Corp. Containerized in 1966 and broken up in 1979. At last nine other ships of this type were rebuild the same way from 1957 to 1969 including the famous first container vessel at all, the Gateway City (MC-474). Sea-Land itself was a corporation developed out of Waterman and ended up its international role in 1999 in being mostly swallod by Maersk (A.P. Möller).
