I thought the WWll 'Empire Boats' were heavy on deck but that American built job must have given the crew a real workout rigging 7 hatches for cargo each day in port... at least 10 sets of booms (derricks). Snowy

A type C4-S-58a built by Ingalls at Pascagoula in 1963 for Farrell.
To Central Gulf Lines in 1980, renamed 'Dawn'.
To Marad in 1988.

Oh yeah...this ship is a perfect example of the oiler who says he's "going to make a round in the shaft alley" and is gone for 1/2 an hour. There must have been 6 spring bearings supporting that long shaft.
