Nice shots of the old lady, parked her a few times, thankfully they did not give her the generals full name : Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov - bit of a mouthful over the VHF
Owners : Murmansk Shipping Company, same name for whole career
She was built by VEB Warnowwerft Warnemuende at Warnemuende in the former East Germany in 1979, the yard is now part of the STX group.

Machinery : single fixed pitch prop, VEB Dieselmotorenwerk Rostock
MAN K8Z70 -120E Diesel 11,200 bhp 15.3 knots, standard rudder no thrusters.

As far as I know they have always been gearless, the tall deck houses appeared to me to be accesses to the holds, store and ventilation spaces

I berthed one of her sisterships, Kapitan Kudalay, in Hull last night and asked the captain as to whether she had had cargo gear, the answer is no.
There are 25-30 of these ships, about half were gearless, and at least one has been stretched in China by having another hatch fitted.
All the class are ice class, Suvarov has bridge wings but some have a fully enclosed bridge / wing structure which I hate as it blocks your view whilst handling them plus you cant feel the wind
