ANDES

ANDES

An elevation view taken from a set of deck plans. What a fantastic oceanliner! Wonderful profile! Built by Harland & Wolff, LTD, Belfast, Northern Ireland, 1939. For some reason, I have always thought that she appeared larger than 25,689grt. Built for Southampton-South America service.

Hi Finn, great looking she was indeed and I think that the added "weight" at her back improved her looks. As originaly built she was front heavy. The post war addition brought her profile to perfection.

I loved my stay at Netania back in the 90s. Do they still do para gliding off the cliffs on the Med coast? They used to soar right past my hotel room window.

Yes they do and I have to behave because they glide by my windows! I am located two km south of the hotel, front line sea view. Occasional
container ships from Haifa to Ashdod
and some trawlers. I head to Haifa for more ships.
