You certainly will have to look hard for HM The Queen as she was somewhere else........on that day.

It was HRH Prince Philip and the King of Norway who took the salute and got a good soaking for their pains. All this took place not in the Mersey but, off the coast of Anglesey, in a force 7/8 gale. I felt very sorry for the crews manning the ship’s side during the sail past as they had to keep their footing as best they could in the sheeting rain and spray.

I was on the bridge of the Stena Cambra, I think it was, and we were being thrown around a lot, the press the official press party where on HMS Bulldog and had a pretty torrid time of it I believe with no pictures of any merit being obtained and a lot of green scribblers.

Scouse.

Surely this should be in the RN Section..................still can't get my head around the fact that we no longer have HMY for our Head of State. Absolutely barking!
