ANTON SAEFKOW passing Portishead 25.7.71 Malcolm Cranfield.jpg

The East German ANTON SAEFKOW, built at Warnemünde near Rostock in 1965, was photographed passing Portishead inward for Avonmouth exactly fifty years ago today, on Sunday morning 25th July 1971.

A similar view, with the Battery Point lighthouse, can be seen in my book "Ocean Freighter Heyday"
