Aquitania at Fishguard

Aquitania at Fishguard

Taken at a very unusual angle from water level, the Aquitania is seen from the stern calling at the port of Fishguard on the return leg of her Maiden Voyage.

Tender alongside is GWR steamer "Pembroke" (1880, 977grt). Three tenders were used one each for passengers, baggage and mails to minimise length of call. Liner would then proceed to Liverpool while passengers disembarked at Fishguard would be whisked by express train to London Paddington, thereby saving a day or so in journey time.

Hi eddy, I wish I could consult with you before I put these pictures up, it would be a great help to be able to identify all of the various vessels seen in them up front. Thanks again for sharing your valuable insights.
