I always remember how I enjoyed the Air the shushh of the sea alongside the ship, and the quietness compared to the noisy, hot, and sometimes dangerous engine room.
My Father was a Navigating Officer and Salvage man, but I somehow fell in love with engines after having seen the Engineroom on the South Shields Ferries as a boy.
