Ditto, what a cracking photo. I do hope you're the photographer and not the pilot! :)

Trimarans, eh? I wonder how they rate compared to the more usual cats?

Can't say I care for the rippled hull plating, and is it just me or is there something 'Dreadnought-ish' about that bow?

Andy,

I live not far, from where those huge cats and tirmarrans are built, unfortunatley, those ripples you see in the hull, cannot be disposed of at all. That is one of the drawbacks when building in plate aluminium, it doesnt bend very well. See the below link and will take you to Austala's homepage.

Fred. Olsen have mostly Incats in fact, so you're not far off! However, their flagship BENCHIJIGUA EXPRESS and one of the smaller cats are from Austal.

She is in fact the lead ship of the above class and a stabilized mono hull. They are in turn the base design for the now "Littoral Class" ships for the USN.
I saw the BENCHIJIGUA EXPRESS under construction a few years back and she was a very impressive ship indeed.
This latest vessel is a second generation of the same concept and I dips my lid to Austal as this is a ground breaking design.
Have a look at the speed she is doing and the lack of wake.
Impressive indeed.
