"B. L. Nairn" (1929, 395 grt) paddle driven passenger/vehicle ferry steamer. River Tay service , Newport-Dundee. Withdrawn 1966 replaced by Tay road bridge. Under tow on way to breakers.

She was unusual in that, certified only for River Tay service, the paddles were driven by two separate sets of compound diagonal machinery. The common paddle shaft could be disconnected with a clutch mechanism to enable the paddles to operate independently for manoeuvring purposes.
