Cancelled his visits to Bangor, Donaghadee and Cushendun today and Ballycastle yesterday, due to adverse weather, West wind 10 to 15 knots.
Boat needs a skipper!!
Such a lot of disappointed people.
Pity about so many punters being let down. Arrived Belfast about 1400 with only eighty-four passengers - however it looks as if she improved on that figure with above trip.
Alan.
A lot of confusion about her no shows, Bangor Tourist Office, if stories are correct, was not taking bookings , they were being handled by Ards T.O. ?? Seemingly a good crowd waiting on Bangor Pier for the noon sailing and no information as to why no sailing.Hard to believe the sea state was too bad for a Bangor berthing.
Crawford.
Skipper was demanding tugs at Bangor!!
None available due to Tall ships etc.
Refused to enter Donaghadee as no leading lights.
Can't think what the big white thing on the end of the pier with the light in it is for!!
Thats a lighthouse! Leading lights are totally different and i imagine thats the reason the sailing in darkness was cancelled. I have been at Donaghadee and dont much fancy trying to put a vessel of that size safely across the South Breakwater to load passengers in anything but perfect conditions...would or could you do it quinton?
Weather both days was as perfect as he would get.
Light offshore breeze, no swell
been doing it all my life in poor weather as well!!
Skipper is very disappointing.
Expect hes looking for other employment or should be.
I make my living running from here and it pisses me off when these people come along, take bookings from the public, many of whom would take their annual trip with me or others and then don't honour it.
Weather can beat us all, but this is a joke, as the local press has pointed out.

Neither you nor any of the local press have the responsibility for the safety of that vessel or her passengers...do u carry out sailings with which u r not happy? I expect not! I sailed from Portaferry that morning and while is wasn't very windy it certainly wasn't perfect conditions...i am also in the industry as my user name suggests and i have to accept the Masters decision, he knows his ship better than any of us!
