Thanks Simon, I was with the Hull stevedores from the start of the ro-ro in January 1973 for a couple of years. Very advanced ships for the period, always worked well.

Shanksy you'll remember Chris Woodall the port super, he was the bain of my life as stevedore, of course the dockers did just what they wanted anyway!
Did a trip with my wife on BE Hull-Helsinki June 1976 and back on the PROGRESS to Purfleet.
BE lasted well, went for scrap only in August last year as LIPA. And PROGRESS also lasted until 3/2008.
35 years service is a tribute to their robust design.

i sailed on baltic enterprise for 2 years 1981-82.helsinki ,kotka.rauma amsterdam etc.not a bad job,6 weeks on 3 weeks off nice ship. went on to sail on baltic progress for 6 years, again good ship with some good guys...big kev maunder,mick moore,dave trainor,chris colwille..where are you all? phil watkinson. also i sailed on baltic osprey leningrad-uk.

Hi phil,when was you on osprey
I was on her 85-86 for around 18 months,my brother was on her for a while before me then moved to the eagle.
Give me some time to sort (not very good with technology)but ive got some good footage i took on a vhs video camera while on her,i transfered it to dvd a while back and i`m gonna try to get it on my hard drive and edit it for posting....along with other ship footage
