three of this stylish cargo liners were under the italian company from 1972-1980.
the glourious ITALIA DI NAVIGAZIONE they were DA NOLI ex BENLEDI-
DA VERRAZZANO ex BENALBANACH-and DA RECCO ex BENWYVIS.

Remember those going to Italia but have never seen photos of them as such.They must have looked nice in their colours.

Excellent ships to work on. I sailed 3rd Mate on Benalbannach but they were a bit too late in coming with the boxes ruining the MN.

Must dig out a photograph of "Bencruachan" lying alongside in Durban after she broke her back in heavy weather off the South African coast. I'll post it when I find it.
Does anyone know what happened to her after that?

A single funnel would have made her really beautiful, like the Benledi which I sailed on.
