Built in 1909 as " BENWOOD " at Craig Taylor Shipyard & Co. Ltd Stockton England United Kingdom for Joseph Hoult & Co. Ltd, Liverpool, England. Launched 27/11.
1910 Delivered in January.
1914 Sold to Steam Transport Co. Ltd (Jos. Hoult & Co. Ltd), Liverpool.
1915 Sold to Adam SS. Co. Ltd, Aberdeen, Scotland (Adam Bros. Ltd), London, England.
1918 Sold to London-American Maritime Trading Co. Ltd (Petersen & Co. Ltd), London.
1923 Sold to Skjelbreds Rederi A/S (O. A. T. Skjelbred), Kristiansand.
1940 Kr. Knudsen, Kristiansand became managers.
Nortraship became managers in April.

1942 Collided 09/04 with American TT ROBERT C. TUTTLE north east of Molasses Reef, Florida, FL, USA whilst on a voyage from Tampa, FL via Halifax, NS, Canada to Liverpool with phosphate rock. Beached, slipped off and sank 14/04.
