Built 1917 by Bremer Vulkan, Vegesack as the 'Wendland' (10,939GT) for HAPAG. 1919, ceded to Britain as war reparations and managed by Furness Withy without a name change. Bought by the Federal Steam Navigation Co. in 1921 and renamed '***berland'.
Torpedoed and sunk August 24, 1940 off the north of Ireland with a loss of 4 crew.
