Birchgrove Park

Collier built by J Lewis and Sons , Aberdeen in 1930 . She served the "60 Miler" trade between Sydney and Newcastle . Lost off Avalon , on Sydney's northern beaches , in August 1956 , when the weather changed for the worse . She was the last (but certainly not the first) 60 miler to be so lost , with the loss of eight lives . She remains a popular dive site .
