Bounty

The Bounty visited Greenock 13.9.2009
A replica of the original H.M.S.Bounty, although around 20% larger cannot confirm that.
With the mod cons she has onboard, engine/generators, decent sleeping quarters etc.
Under the U.S.A. Flag
In for a short stay only. around £5.50 to go onboard, I was happy w

I believe the correct prefix for a sailing ship, insofar as she deserves to be called this, is SV, as in sailing vessel. SS I believe most members here take to mean steam ship. This wikipedia entry also goes along this path: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ship_prefixes

I was wondering about that, Stein.
Couldn't see a funnel anywhere. (Jester)
Best with no prefix to avoid confusion so edited.

I will not go down the road of, wikipedia.
I think, s.s. seems okay to myself, with an axillary engine, as most have these days. I seen her under sail, maybe the engine was ticking over?
Of course with and engine maybe just not quite correct.
I ain't going to lose sleep over it.

Reading the pointers about uploading to the gallery here might help -
http://www.shipsnostalgia.com/showthread.php?t=12964
With an emphasis on paragraph 4 of post #4. (Thumb)
There's also a little thing the gallery likes to do and that is ignore words that have punctuation marks in them if they have no spaces. So a search would not reveal such pictures. There's a note further down in about this in the pointers linked to above.
