X Bow Supply Vessel Bourbon Orca at Aberdeen 13th Oct 06. Allegedly this bow design has improved sea-keeping but it certainly does nothing for the appearance of the vessel!!!!

Does anyone remember a story in the papers about testing yachts for the America's Cup about twenty years ago? According to the press, the guys with the water tank said the models showed less drag when towed backwards. Looks like designers get better sea boats building them upside down. Still, handsome is as handsome does and the ships on order look a whole lot less Heath Robinson than some ships hiding under helidecks I can think of.
I am fascinated by this ship. I've been trying to find as much info on it as I can. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I guess I'm in the minority, 'cause I think she's a beauty.

I agree with you on that skoodah !
I think its a cool design.
BTW if you take the waterline as center and go from the bpttom an equal amount above the waterline, draw a reverse C onto it topped by a dragonhead and see what you get......
Voila 1000 years old..... and we never called those boats ugly.
A very exciting design and rather functional to boot.
I am waiting for a Fisherman to try it on a new boat, just to see...
faster speed in bad weather ought to be worth something to somebody.
