It isn't 2009 because you would have Spinnaker Tower right behind. An Sealink finished The Wight Services in 1990. And the ferry isn't Caedmon, I think, but Cuthred - you can tell by the lifeboat in the recess.

The photo is from the summer of 1986 by the looks of it. Both cats are behind (you can see the stern of one ahead of Brading's bow) Our Lady Pamela arrived in June 1986. Brading is wearing her blue cap on her funnel as she was mothballed after being retired in February 1986. Cuthred is the third ship on the Fishbourne route and would be replaced by St. Cecelia which would enter service in March 1987.
If you look closely, MV Southsea is berthed side by side with MV Brading, you can see her main mast next to Brading's....hope this helps....

Poor proof reading on my part, you are correct the photo was not 2009 but 1986, have amended the photo.
It was taken on the same day as my previous submission of a bow view of Southsea and Brading ., see
