A really excellent overview of the Lloyd Werft shipyard in Bremerhaven, so many ships to identify but the only ones I know for sure is the St Colomba and the Southern Cross ex Spirit of London in dry dock.

Vessel in drydock in foreground looks like Russian "Dmitriy Shostakovich" class ro-pax ferry.

To the left underneath the mint green tanker is German Research Vessel POLARSTERN.

To the right, the 2 vessels alongside, the inner one is IRIS LEONHARDT.

Your correct regarding the Russian although I was going to mention her in my post but her name of class totally slipped my memory.

Can anyone date the photo?

5 vessels named in a photo 30+ years old is pretty good going.

When date did the ST COLOMBA arrive at Bremerhaven in April 1986 as I was on the Queen Elizabeth 2 at the time and we didn't leave the yard untill the 20th April 1986.

Arrival date of ST. COLUMBA not further stated on this site, the Lloyd Werft book doesn`t tell either.

If you are talking about the major conversion of QE2 she left the yard on 25 April 1987.
