British Birch

In furtherance of the RAF Gan stories , here is the 1951 built -British Birch- discharging over the stern , Aviation fuel and other fuel / lub. oils at Gan in the Indian Ocean in 1959.
My father was a civilian with the MOD and ran the islands Blackstone powered diesels of the power station.
John F., I think you'll like this one, too ?

A fine picture, anyone with an interest in BP, especially with the ships of this era, will find these shots delightful.
Best wishes.

Brings back memories, I was there on th Br Gunner 1966, same position and at that time possibly the last BP tanker still with the old Iranian colour funnels.
RAF looked after us well, few people fell in on the way back most nights, we returned the hospitality and were able to watch a few of them fall in on the way home.
