20.9.1959 Launched by Ansaldo Societa Per Azoni, Genoa ( Yard No 1532 ).2.1961 Completed. Sold to Greece and renamed LESTE. 1978 Converted to a oil storage vessel.1984 sold for demolition after a long lay up at Salamis.

I still find it hard to beleive that all those beautiful ships B.P. had are all gone now, I still find it sad but maybe I am living in the past and wishing for days gone by, happy memories

Thanks for this one aj, I spent 8 happy months on her as senior apprentice. Despite the awful reputation the Italian 35s had for breaking down she spent little time drifting while I was aboard. The fastest BP tanker that I was ever on even though she rattled your teeth while full away in ballast. A happy ship.

No - engineers lived midships in all BP vessels with centrecastles, except for the 50,000 dwt class - Queen, Hussar, Cavalier - where they lived aft.

PO's lived across the accommodation on top, Bosun, Pumpman, Ch. Cook, (Hippy)..... what was the Fireman PO called?
