This must be prior to going on the Gladstone - Bluff alumina trade under management of Shipping Corp. of NZ in 1974. She would have been pretty new at this stage, but certainly showing a great deal of rust.
Can't quite make out the funnel markings - doesn't look like Jebsens.

She was owned by Jebsens and bare boat chartered to SCNZ for the Gladstone Bluff alumina trade. Half manned by Aussies and Kiwis, I think. Jebsen, had 3 in all, 2 of which were later sold to Silver Line. Became Silver Tweed and Silver Tyne.

When on the alumina run had her derricks removed and funnel was black with on one side an aluminium coloured kiwi and on the other a kangaroo. Built in 1970 she is apparently still afloat as the "Zhong Hai" which is astonishing considering the outward condition she was in when she finished on the alumina run. Perhaps someone spent a fortune refurbishing her and are still trying to get their money back.

She has latterly operated as a belt-unloader which will have involved quite an extensive - and expensive conversion.
