Byland Abbey - AHL

I served as 3rd Mate on this ship after she had been taken over by Ellerman's Wilson Line, Dec 1966 to May 1967. Trading between Goole and Denmark.

I served on this ship twice between April and June 1968, once as 3rd Mate and once as 2nd Mate. Her name had been changed to " ANGELO " by then.

Times must have changed since the fifties when I was on the "Don" on the same run, we only carried two mates, second and first, they worked four on four off
