My father was Chief Engineer on Alert from around '72 to '81 ish. A beautiful ship when it was all-white (Based on the Clyde).
If you had a connection with the ship - you perhaps remember Stewart Greig (Chief Engineer) , and the Chief Officer at the time was Andrew Chalmers (who passed away in Spain last year)

Worked on her as an apprentice when she was building in Fairfields. The Ch. Eng at the time tried everything to persuade me to sail with them, was tempted but decided to finish my apprenticeship.

I was aboard her many times at Rothesay Dock on the Clyde when my Dad & cousin Jimmy Clougherty were there together.
