CALEDONIAN ISLES

Caledonian Macbrayne/s Arran ferry built by Richards at Lowestoft in 1995 and the largest ferry on that route so far.
Taken at Ardrossan as she prepared to leave for Brodick in Arran.

Nice photograph, saw her myself a couple of months ago at Ardrossan but had to wait until she had turned ready to leave the harbour before the sun caught her enough for a reasonable photo. Looks a lot better from this angle.

The biggest ship ever built by Richards in Lowestoft and sadly their grand finale. The shipyard is now being converted into an ASDA supermarket.

Richards are still building boats Fred. They assemble the hulls for the MacDuff Shipyard which get towed up for fitting out ( they completed the hull of my cousins new trawler earlier on this year and are building at least 2 or 3 more hulls as far as I know for delivery over the next year to 18 months ).
