What is the plate/design above the bridge centre window? It appears in some early photographs and at the end of her life but often not in the middle years.

I could have sworn I'd seen a close-up of this among the dozens of Canberra pictures on file. Wasn't it a plaque honouring her Falklands service?

A very good photo.

While I was onboard the Royal Viking Star we visited there several times.

I think this is one of the nicest images of Canberra I have seen. Although she was never one of my favourites for external styling, I sailed on her 5 times.

I think it's the builders plaque from Harland and Wolff.. It's certainly in the right place and is the right shape..

I don't think it's her builders plaque-unless it was moved up to that position late in her career. I'll bet it was the plaque honoring her service in the Falklands.
