Take it this was a replacement for one of the original 6 OCL Bay boats? Or was this one of the orginal 4 Blue Flue OCL boats on the Far East service?

Built in Hamburg around the 1971-72 mark and think known as the G2 (second generation ) ships. They were the biggies of the day, 50-odd thousand grt or something like that. Sisters were TOKYO BAY OSAKA BAY and others I/ve forgotten offhand! I/m sure I saw her on the building berth, just a big green hull with no upperworks at that time.

She looked much better in OCL Green........

The five Far East Bay boats were; Tokyo Bay, Kowloon Bay, Osaka Bay, Liverpool Bay and Cardigan Bay. Beautiful (Well for a box boat!) fast and comfortable ships.

Regards

Allan
