Carrier= HMAS MELBOURNE

I wonder if anyone would be able to identify this carrier. I can't make out the insignia on the aircraft and the NAVY in English is intriguing.

HMAS Melbourne (ex-HMS Majestic) - a Majestic class light fleet carrier. Laid down 1943, launched 1945 and completed 1955. She looks to have her entire compliment of aircraft on deck as, after her 1969 refit, she carried 8 A-4G Skyhawks, 6 S-2E Trackers and Wessex helicopters. Cannot recall when she was scrapped, but expect someone else will provide that information.

Not a lucky ship as I seem to remember, didn't she cut an Ausy Daring in half, and years later an American destroyer as well?

She did indeed. The Daring was HMAS Voyager and the American was the Frank E. Evens. Details are in the link already posted.
