Excellent Alan...A very nice painting of a familiar ship to me.
A friend sailed in her for nearly four years from newly built.

Thanks Stan. I remember them at Convoy's Wf with no white band on the funnel .
Did they ever berth at Bowaters ?

Hi Alan,
I forgot to mention they had no white band on the funnel when originally managed by Runciman..
Possibly added with a change of managers/ownership.
I don't think they discharged at Bowater's Northfleet -always at Convoy's Wharf.
Occasionally they discharged at Purfleet Deep Wharf -much of the pulp into lighters..
When my pal was in Caxton they occasionally discharged cargo at Bowater's Ellesmere Port.
Regards,
Stan
