I don't know the history of her. I did a couple of trips on her whilst repairing the Boiler Controls. Steam used to run cargo pumps. I will post some more pics, there maybe something else that you may recognise.

Can anyone explain the "gantry" type structures on top of the funnels?

She is one of 4 sisters Gotaverken built 1974-75,i put now in my gallery her sister under Italian flag OSLO.

ANL also had two of these. Australian Purpose/Pioneer in the late 70's thru 80's. Mostly on the Iron Ore trade Pilbara to Japan. The Purpose sank in the Indian Ocean with a load of Iron Ore in the early 90's

The gantry was the stores crane and a bugger to use.

I believe the 'Gantry' style on the funnels is to allow air to pass through & take all soot away from the uptakes etc?
