She had the usual cityline funnel colours when I was on her in 1975. Note the topmasts - they came down if necessary as when going to Manxhester up the cut. Excellent sea ship. In those days she sailed with around 20 British officers, and 70 odd Indian crew.
One of 5 sister ships. Newcastle, Ripon, Wellington ... cannot remember the other two.

You will find the top masts were"cropped " to go up the Lakes. They were not telescopic. I was in the Ripon for 3 trips as Cadet one as 3rd Mate and Mate of the Delhi. The Montreal also had the top masts cropped when I was Second Mate in her in 72 again to go up the seaway. Check pic of Sydney [ Montreal ] as built. The Glasgow [ Ottawa ] and Eastbourne [ Totonto ]also were on the CCL and had the top masts done.
