These ships were lovely looking vessels with wonderful accommodation on board.
We met up with them regularly in South Africa and always went on board for a few beers.

They were nice ships as you say John and also visited some of them in South Africa on occasions to inform them of engine trials etc.
Have to admit we did feel a bit smug when overtaking them when on Union Castle mail ships as our service speed was 22.5 knots!
Snowbow Productions have a good DVD with both Ellermans and U-C round Africa service.
