Hi Hugh
Was on board (see my profile) during this exercise.I can vaguely remember the exercise but spent too much time in the P.O.'s mess up the sharp end 3b mess if my memory serves me right (Waffoo's).From your profile it looks like this was your first ship and it was my last.I stayed on when she decommissioned early in 1979 to de-store ship then spent the last three years of my service career at H.M.S.Daedalus, Lee on Solent Enjoying my(R.D.P.)and was allways crying (R.O.M.F.T.)Those three years dragged. What made you come out after twelve years or need I ask !!
Regards

Hello Smudger,
Yes, this was my first ship. Got to say probably the best of the lot.
Why did I leave? I met a lady who I knew I shouldn't let go, so I came ashore. Still married to her so I made the right decision, but I still miss the sea. I suppose that's why I am a member of this crew.
Hi Hugh
Can't say I miss the sea but the comradeship I do miss.Like you say it's nice to be in touch with people on this site that have had the same experience we had.
