The British pass/cargo liner RMS COMORIN (1), 165m/ 15.116gt/ 16kn/ pax 203 1st class + 103 2nd class; 11/04/1925 completed by Barclay Curle & Co., Ltd., Whiteinch, Glasgow, for Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Co., London; 30/12/1939 HMS COMORIN, requisiotend by The Admiralty and converted to an armed merchant cruiser for Royal Navy; 07/04/1941 HMS COMORIN, she caught fire off Sierra Leone in heavy seas and gale force winds and scuttled sunk by destroyer HMS LINCOLN. All on board abandoned the ship except 20 men lost. Sister ships: CATHAY, CHITRAL.
