A Keystone glass slide showing Copenhagen port. An excellent photo with lots of details in it.

Richard, I believe the slide came with the information leaflet, but I am not at home to check for a while. I saw a stereoscopic version online with a copyright date of 1906. Another version indicated 1931. Don.

The ship in the foreground is the DFDS passenger ship NIELS EBBESEN (1899-1936) and behind her probably DFDS' CIMBRIA (built 1897) along Kvæsthusbroen, Copenhagen. In the background the naval base Holmen. My best guess is some time early 1900.

Looks like your old hulks were still floating in 1906, Stein! Nice to see the differences over the years.
That's good info, Peter.

Thanks doncontrols. Further to the hulks: could be the former Danish frigates: NIELS JUEL, SJÆLLAND and FYEN which were lying in the navy base as barrack vessels from around 1887 until about 1908-10.
regards Peter
