Coquet Light II was built as Tamarisk - FY 499 for Mevagissey, Cornwall, owners in 1979.
She was the third boat of a design called the Poldice 38 built by W.Visick & Sons of Devoran near Truro. The first two boats of the series, Tauranga SS 274 & Morwenna FH 486, were found to have stability problems & were modified by the builders to give them approx 1ft of extra freeboard & 1ft extra draught. I believe Tamarisk was built to the modified design from new.

KY315 Fair Morn which works from Eyemouth is the same design. A previous SS registration number is still visible, as it is cut from steel plate. Would this boat have originally been Tauranga?

Thats right Graham. Fair Morn was the Tauranga. Morwenna became the
Iona - FD 86 working from Fleetwood after many years in Weymouth but I don't know if she is still around or called something different as she doesn't appear on the register under that name or number now.
