Cunard Adventurer in QE2 livery

Stephen Card mentioned a while ago that it would have been interesting if Cunard had painted their new Adventurer and Ambassador in Cunard's traditional federal grey hull to match the QE2. This would have given Cunard a most uniform looking fleet. So I took Stephen's image of the Adventurer on her inagural Bermuda call and "painted" her hull dark grey. I think she looks well, but it emphasizes how small she actually was. I paired the image with one of the QE2 from an early brochure.

Hey Thad!

Nice work. She looks good... but I would do it slightly differently... lower the level of the grey to include a full row pof port on a white band and then perhaps try a slight sheer curve toward the bow... like QE2.... or keep it all horizontal and have a nice wide band of white around the bow... like STATENDAM of 57.

Is anyone going to attempt to add the traditional Cunard funnel to the last pic which btw I much prefer to Thads as it makes her look bigger and more traditional.

I had never imagined how these two sisters would look with charcoal grey hulls but it's look good, all I am doing now is trying to picture her with the red and black Cunard funnel.

Almost there! Looks pretty damn good. Perhaps the sheer in the paintline forward does not work so well and that a flat paintline would look better..... as STATENDAM?

Are you up for another try?

ok one more with the "Statendam" level hull paint, and another of just the Adventurer with the black hull, but later Cunard red-orange funnel.

Excellent I tried to do it myself but I am glad you did it, it is a shame that Cunard did not have these colours on her and her sister as she does look very smart indeed I have to say:)

When I worked on board the adventurer capt Peter Jackson (r.i.p.) colored a ships postcard with the red funnel shroud, and sent it to the top cunard executives, they shot him down paid thousands for a consulting firm only to get the same picture from them. Just goes to show, He was so mad.
