Thanks Fred, a lovely shot indeed, I remember crossing to Stranrarer on her in Sept. '77 and a friendlier crew would have been hard to find.

They looked after us very, very well.

Kenny, you know my soft spot - first class photograph.

The port side list she has in this photo when light ship was to compensate for unsymmetrical cargo stowage. She had just 1 lane down the port side of the funnel casing while she had two on the starboard side so when she was loaded her cargo would cause her to take a starboard list cancelling this port list out so she would be on an even keel when loaded.

Thanks Fred, I agree, a lovely wee hard worker she was.

Plebstar, you've just brought back good memories for me, when I had to walk along her decks, at the harbour when I was with the "ministry". -- Dept. of Agrculture N.I. Imports Inspector.-- to make sure she was was cleared, at all hours of the day and night
