Forgot to name these middies in Port Said: From left to right.... Mike Mason, Mike Burton-Hopkins,(both first trippers), Tony Minns, myself Mike Harrison,(both 2nd. trippers), Mike Hart (senior middy), and John Adderley (Australian). The captain on that trip was G.W.Povey, the Mate was A.A. Railton and the Bosun was Dan Corlett. Maybe some of those names will trigger a few memories.

The only one I heard of, through the grapevine, after this early trip to the Far East, was Tony Minns, who I believe ended up as Master on the P & O Dover-Calais service. Anyone seen or heard of the others?, I'm not even sure if they stayed at sea after their apprenticeships.
